(10 minute drive to the trailhead) is arguably the most popular novice trail in Western North Carolina (Montreat map-kitchen table).  It’s a 2.5 mile roundtrip hike with enough climbing challenge to make it interesting, with a gorgeous view of Black Mountain to the east and the Seven Sisters and the Blue Ridge Parkway to the west.  Moderate hiking skills and fitness required.  The last 100 yards is strenuous, difficult for small children.  Lookout is viewable from the 3rd floor Sauna deck, looking north.
