Don’t miss Malaprops Bookstore/cafe. Possibly the most beloved, local store in Asheville. Malaprops captures what makes Asheville so unique, quirky and interesting. The Grove Arcade is worth a stop, not only for the shops, but also for the architectural-historical setting. Don’t miss Hemingway’s Cuba restaurant. Arguably the best restaurant balcony view of Ashevile (4th floor of the Cambia Holtel). Finally, the Biltmore Village (next to the Biltmore Estate entrance)….the crafts industry in Asheville was established by the Vanderbilt’s so traditional arts and crafts in Asheville have unlimited history and depth. Glass is now at the center of the Asheville art scene so catching a glass blowing event is probably a winner. The Grand Bohemian Hotel, next to the Biltmore entrance is a great place for lunch.
